Forensics can use this chart to tell different types of blood apart. If you but Anti B in B type blood a reaction will happen, etc. By blood typing it also makes blood transfusions possible.

Hand Writing






Even though hand writing is a science it is not always accurate, to be used in court. The ability to tell the difference between a forged and the real thing have made people question the science of handwriting analysis and its use. A professional can almost perfectly and undetectably forge a handwriting sample, making it arguable by anyone in court.


When analyzing someones hand writing scientist use:


Line quality


spacing of words and letters


Ratio of height, width, and size of letters.


lifting of the pen


connecting of strokes


Stroke beginning to end


unusual letter formation


pen pressure


slant


baseline habits


fancy writing habits


placement of diacritics

Finger Print Time Line

The first time fingerprints were used as an official means of identification by Juan Vuetich, an Argentinian police official was in 1893

Scottland Yard started the UK Fingerprint Bureau, making it applicable to police ID in 1901

The First known systematic use of fingerprints in the US by NY Civil Service Commission in 1902

The FBI established the Identification Division, with 810,188 fingerprint records in 1924


In 1929 the St. Valentines Day Massacre generated interest to start a State level identification bureau

Even though there are many people with similar fingerprints there has never been any two with the exact same.

Lifting Prints off of Light Surfaces

Steps to lift Fingerprints off of light surfaces!

1. Find print.

2. Load up brush with you talcum(baby powder).

3. Brush it on with out really touching the print.

4. Blow any extra powder away.

5. Without smugging the powder put done tape over it.

6. Lift the print straight up, and place on a dark sheet to see it clearly.
